On last Sunday 20th March 2011, UniKL MSI with collaboration with MKH Cycling Team have organized for 2nd edition of ride which call "UniKL MSI - MKH Classic Ride, Steel is Real 2011".
The launch/flag-off has been done by Engr. Mohd Nizam Bin Ahmad, Deputy Dean of Academic together with Madam Norhalimatul Saadiah Kamarudin, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Technoprenuer at 7.45 am. About 300 riders participated in this 100km fun ride has cover scenery route from UniKL MSI passing through Serdang - Selama - Mahang - Sg. Kob - Kulim Hi-Tech and coming back to UniKL MSI.
Along the journey, the riders were escorted by motorcycle marshals and also PDRM which help the riders keep the riding on right direction. After paddling about 40km, the riders have a break at Rumah Rehat Selama, Perak where they were supplied with "Roti John Perda", fruits and drinks to replanish their body energy and also to regroup back the riders especially those whose left behind.
The ride continued and the pelaton heading to Mahang passing by Selama Kedah which divided by Sg. Kerian heading to Sg. Kob, Kulim Hi-Tech and back to UniKL MSI. The first group of riders which came back to UniKL MSI arrived about 10.30 a.m and the last group of riders came back around 1.15 p.m. Those late or left behind so far away were fetch by a lorry provided.
The foods served for the riders were marvelous. For the lunch, they were serve with nasi tomato, ayam masak merah, jelatah, fruity drinks and char koey teow. The riders thumbs up for the foods. So yummy...
As overall, this event was organized successfully. Thank you to MKH Cycling Team for the collaboration. We do hope to see back all the riders on the coming edition.
